Ο Δρ. Ευάγγελος Τζιρίτης είναι Γεωλόγος και Κύριος Ερευνητής στο Ινστιτούτο Εδαφών και Υδάτων του ΕΛΓΟ-ΔΗΜΗΤΡΑ, με εξειδίκευση στην περιβαλλοντική υδρογεωχημεία και την ολοκληρωμένη διαχείριση υδατικών πόρων. Η έρευνά του επικεντρώνεται σε προηγμένες μεθοδολογίες κατανόησης και πρόγνωσης της αλατότητας υπόγειων υδάτων, στη μοντελοποίηση σύνθετων γεωχημικών διεργασιών και στην ανάπτυξη ολοκληρωμένων και ψηφιακά υποστηριζόμενων πλαισίων παρακολούθησης και εκτίμησης κινδύνου για ευάλωτους υδροφορείς. Συμμετέχει ενεργά σε μεγάλα ευρωπαϊκά ερευνητικά προγράμματα (Horizon, PRIMA, LIFE), συνεργαζόμενος με πανεπιστήμια, θεσμικούς φορείς και τη βιομηχανία. Έχει δημοσιεύσει ευρύ φάσμα μελετών σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά, αποτυπώνοντας σταθερή ερευνητική δραστηριότητα και στηρίζοντας την ανάπτυξη σύγχρονων προσεγγίσεων αξιολόγησης της ποιότητας νερού και βιώσιμης διαχείρισης. Με ισχυρό ενδιαφέρον για την καινοτομία, τη συνεργασία και τη βιωσιμότητα, επιδιώκει ουσιαστικές συνέργειες με επαγγελματίες που εργάζονται για την αντιμετώπιση σύγχρονων και ασύμμετρων προκλήσεων στους υδατικούς πόρους (συμπεριλαμβανομένων των κλιματικών ακραίων φαινομένων, των σύνθετων διεργασιών υφαλμύρινσης και των πιέσεων από αναδυόμενους ρύπους).
