Ο Δρ Γεώργιος Αραμπατζής είναι Γεωπόνος του ΑΠΘ, με Μεταπτυχιακό Δίπλωμα στις έγγειες βελτιώσεις και Διδακτορικό στην κίνηση του νερού σε πορώδη μέσα. Εργάζεται ως Διευθυντής Ερευνών (Ερευνητής Α’) στο Ινστιτούτο Εδαφοϋδατικών Πόρων του Ελληνικού Γεωργικού Οργανισμού – ΔΗΜΗΤΡΑ. Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται στη διαχείριση του αρδευτικού νερού, στην κίνηση του νερού στην ακόρεστη ζώνη και στη σχέση νερού – εδάφους – φυτού.  Έχει εργασιακή εμπειρία μεγαλύτερη από 20 χρόνια και μετείχε σε περισσότερα από 50 ερευνητικά έργα, τα οποία εστίαζαν στη διαχείριση και παρακολούθηση των υδατικών πόρων και ήταν επιστημονικά υπεύθυνος σε 20 περίπου από αυτά. Έχει περισσότερες από 90 δημοσιεύσεις, από τις οποίες περισσότερες από 36 είναι σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά με κρίση.
