Intelligent weed identification and spray necessity assessment system using biodiversity indices
WeeDetect
Intelligent weed identification and spray necessity assessment system using biodiversity indices
Abstract
More specifically, the final WeeDetect system performs the following processes:
i) Weed detection and identification
ii) Counting of identified weeds
iii) Decision on the necessity of chemical weed control
iv) Determination of the optimal active ingredient (or mixture of substances)
The integrated WeeDetect system successfully implements the initial stage of developing targeted herbicide spraying systems. The performance of the weed recognition and detection model, the application for counting their number and/or their plant cover in real time, the decision-making system for deciding whether or not to spray based on existing data and specific biodiversity indicators, as well as the system for selecting and prioritizing active ingredients and herbicides with the aim of achieving functional synergy between biodiversity, weed pressure, and targeted plant protection, are considered highly satisfactory.

Capture and Reuse Of biogenic gases for Negative-emission - sustainable biofUelS
CRONUS
Capture and Reuse Of biogenic gases for Negative-emission - sustainable biofUelS
Abstract
Ambition
The overall ambition of the CRONUS project is to significantly advance the current state of the art in the area of biofuels production and the utilisation of biogenic effluent gases. CRONUS will introduce effective technologies with high-potential innovations (techno-economic feasible solutions), thus accelerating the green transition and associated transformation of our economy, industry and society with a view to achieving climate neutrality in Europe by 2050.
