Dr. Panagiotis Tziachris is Principal Research Scientist at ELGO-DIMITRA's Soil and Water Resources Institute, specializing in geospatial technologies and precision agriculture. His PhD research at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki established frameworks for Greece's agricultural Spatial Data Infrastructure.His expertise includes digital soil mapping using advanced machine learning algorithms and hybrid geostatistical methods for accurate soil property prediction. He has participated in international research initiatives including ARIMNet2 (D4Declic) and HORIZON2020 (CREDIBLE) projects, and scientifically coordinated the national "SustainablePeach" project utilizing intelligent agriculture technologies. Dr. Tziachris also coordinates i-GeoVET project, ELGO-DIMITRA's advanced GIS platform for geospatial livestock registration and disease management, providing Regions and the Ministry with tools for epidemiological surveillance, outbreak tracking, and coordinated veterinary response across Greece.He has published extensively in journals including Catena and ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, serves as peer reviewer for multiple scientific publications, and teaches GIS courses at Perrotis College, American Farm School.
