Vassilios Pisinaras is a Researcher (Grade B’) at the Soil & Water Resources Institute (SWRI) of the Hellenic Agricultural Organization–DIMITRA (HAO). His scientific work focuses on hydrologic and hydrogeologic modelling, water resources management and optimization, the Water–Energy–Food–Climate Nexus, environmental sensor-based monitoring, irrigation scheduling, climate change impact assessment, and the design and implementation of Nature-based Solutions in agriculture.
He has served as a Researcher at SWRI since May 2017, working within the registered research field of Water Resources Management in Agriculture. From 2003 to 2017, he worked as an on-contract researcher, contributing to fourteen collaborative projects with the Democritus University of Thrace, the University of Patras, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and HAO.
His scientific output includes 46 peer-reviewed journal papers and 82 conference publications, with a Google Scholar h-index of 22 and 1,590 citations. He has participated in more than thirty European and international research projects, serving as Principal or Vice-Principal Investigator for PRIMA NexusLabs, HEurope SpongeWorks, H2020 REXUS, PRIMA LENSES, H2020 ATLAS, and LIFE AgroClimaWater.
