Research Director of ELGO-DIMITRA at the Department of Soil Science, Athens, Institute of Soil and Water Resources. Graduate of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment, Faculty of Geotechnical Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a PhD in Forest Soil Science from the Department of Forestry, University of Aberdeen, UK. Dr. Kavvadias Victor was a research associate at the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment and a laboratory and research associate between 2002 and 2009 at the Department of Agriculture, University of Peloponnese. Since 2001 he has been working as a researcher at ELGO-DIMITRA. The object of his research activity is sustainable soil management and soil fertility, soil pollution and restoration, fertilization of crops and their nutritional status, evaluation of the effective use of inorganic and organic fertilizers and soil amendments in agriculture, management of agricultural residues and wastes and the application of farming practices to reduce the impact of climate change on the soil system. Participation and coordination of research projects in the relevant fields at international and national level. He is a reviewer of several international scientific journals.
