The Laboratory of Chemical Analysis of Soils, Plant Tissues & Water aims to support sustainable agriculture and environmental protection through comprehensive assessment of soil, plant and water quality. It focuses on improving soil health, reducing fertilizer use, and optimizing crop nutrition based on evidence-based data. It supports the implementation of precision agriculture, the rational management of irrigation water and the monitoring of environmental parameters, contributing to the resilience of agroecosystems and the safeguarding of high-quality natural resources.

  • Soils: Total and organic carbon, pH, electrical conductivity, total and active CaCO₃, soil texture, total and available concentrations of macronutrients, trace elements and heavy metals, cation exchange capacity (CEC), leachability of heavy metals.
  • Plant tissues: Total concentrations of macronutrients, trace elements and heavy metals.
  • Water: Physicochemical properties (pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids – TDS, hardness, etc.), major ions and trace elements/heavy metals, organic carbon.
  • Development of soil maps and land evaluation for various uses
  • Soil fertility analysis and development of fertilization models based on soil testing
  • Development of foliar diagnostic models for nutrient deficiency management
  • Evaluation of fertilizers and soil conditioners through field and greenhouse experiments
  • Assessment of the effectiveness of natural and artificial water treatment systems
  • Evaluation of irrigation water quality and crop response
  • Assessment of surface/groundwater quality and hydrogeochemical modeling
  • Development of monitoring infrastructure for surface and groundwater quality
  • Evaluation/calibration of field water-quality sensors using laboratory measurements.
